People will do whatever people want to do.
I suppose you would only pay a cancellation fee if you are within a contract period. I think the Sky+ HD box is free with no set up fee if you take the HD pack and join online.

Feel free to count the number of customer affecting announcements. I think you will still find denphone is wrong.

The way I see it, is I could not careless what Sky are doing as I am not there customer, what I do care about is when VM announce something, we never get a formal update. It is left to forums like these to speculate or in my case email senior management to get the answers. I feel that VM owe it to there customers to update them on things they have said are coming.

As we are VM customers if we look at those 'announcements' some are important, many are pretty lame, for example romantic OD movies for Valentines Day and OD horror movies for Halloween, but do check this 'announcement' out which is one of the 106 you mentioned. It is very funny.
You couldn't make it up. Having looked at Sky's too I really think VM are going for quantity of announcements here although Sky are not immune from posting nonsense too.
Both companies often talk a load of twaddle as far as I am concerned.

Never mind Virgin talking twaddle, this "Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2011)" thread has turned into the biggest amount of twaddle you'll find on the internet.
Coming Soon to Virgin TV used to be the best thread on this site but these days you've got to wade through page upon page of off topic jibber jabber before finding something that is actually Coming Soon.
I'm just adding to the jibber jabber with this post
More Coming Soon and less Virgin and SKY comparisons please
Oh and just in-case anyone asks nobody died and made me a staff member, I'm just arrogant and like telling people I don't know what to do

I couldn't agree more. My post was jabber in response to jabber.
As was yours!
I suppose it reflects that there isn't much going on for us to talk about in this thread as Tivo is the current hot topic.

Let's all be postive, if you do know of something coming soon (other than Tivo, that's covered in it's own thread) let's have it.
It might put an end to the waffle but I don't think there is much to talk about, there's not even any good rumours doing the rounds!
I even posted that I noticed EuroNews had gone widescreen today, I bet that was exciting for those of you who read that post!

I quite liked MB's list but I suppose everyone has a different idea. I would hate the music channels being first and the BBC and HD last but that's just me.
It would be nice if they let us to sort of create our own EPG and move what we consider rubbish to the end and reposition some others but of course it is unlikely to happen to protect the channel providers.
I love the way on my TV I can delete what I think is rubbish and reorder the rest as I see fit but then again that is just freeview.

I agree it would be amazing to be able to make our own epg and I suppose thats the perk of freeview
