So many judgmental people here.

I'm not sure what was judgemental about my comment. Living within ones means is simple commonsense.
If pay TV is now too expensive for some to afford on there income then disconnect or reduce services. I'm affraid that's just a fact of life.
Pay TV is a luxury, freesat an freeview offer plenty of entertainment, news, for free.

I agree that pay tv is a luxury and that people should live within their means.
The OP's first post was to say they had dropped their package down as they couldn't afford it since the pay rise. So they did exactly what you said (and had a little moan about it) but because they mentioned they were on benefits they got attacked from all angles telling them to live within their means and reduce their package...
Like I said before, some were so focused on the benefits attack they were blind to everything else said

Re: Price Increases?
Why do people mention they are on benefits or disabled unless they want to engender some un-necessary sympathy for their situation?

Re: Price Increases?
How do you know that sympathy is not necessary for their situation, that's a very sweeping statement .

Re: Price Increases?
looking to reduce my package too. on tv xl,want to go to m (i think). we pay for all calls at a fixed price each month, and want too remove that aspect, but we want to retain the BBand at 30 mb which is i believe to be doubled by the end of this month to 60mb. if i reduce the package do i then start a new 12 months contract with vm?

Re: Price Increases?
Sorted it all out by dropping the Movies from our package, it has saved us more than £22 a month. They were very understanding about it, and gave us no hassle.
Thanks for all your encouraging posts, and as for the negative posts, well, what can I say?
I used to work for a living before I had the accident, and put some savings aside, when I was earning good money working offshore and over seas, hence the purchase of our TV.
Thanks again folks.

Re: Price Increases?
I must confess that l only watch the True channels for movies, NOT Sky at all.
There was a company last year, something call 'blue' that was brining out several entertainment channels, and Movies. But they haven't appeared.
Also the Discovery channels such as ' Duck Dynasty, and Pawn Stars on History.

Re: Price Increases?
Aye! and neither of them have anything to do with History?
Also, I noticed we have now lost the Military channel, that was one of my favourites, and this new H2 they replaced it with, is just showing old programs with new names?
Makes you wonder if they think we are daft and wont notice?

It's not been replaced by VM - that was the channel themselves that did so http://www.imediamonkey.com/2013/04/...urday-may-4th/

Re: Price Increases?
Thanks for that Ben, the link wouldn't play, (copyright protection?) but I will wait and see how it goes?
Must admit we really enjoy our Documentary channels, and we haven't really missed the Movie channels, as yet.
