Price Increases?
Hi folks, we have just dropped our TV package down to XL as the the price has been going up every month since we came back to VM six months ago.
It went from £88.40 right up to to £97.49 within six months? When I called to ask why, I was told it was quite normal?:( Is it? We have kept our phone & internet packages as they were, but we are still annoyed at the increase, as we are on disability benefits. |

Something wrong somewhere.

Re: Price Increases?
How can you downgrade to TV XL -it is the highest TV service?
Have you identified if the variation in price is due to phone charges? |

For the bill to go up every month for 6 month seems very, very strange. |

In this thread you say that you came back to Virgin Media six months ago, yet in a thread just over eight months ago you said the following: Aye! I think I will phone them, its just we feel cheated in a way, because it was price increases from Sky that made us come back to V/M. The original deal was £82 a month, now only 3 months later, here we are paying £88+, it seems we cant win? Just so you see I'm not making this up, here is the post: http://www.cableforum.co.uk/board/34...l#post35469018 So? |
Re: Price Increases?
Am I right in thinking that if there is a price increase we would have a window where we can leave Virgin without penalty even if we are still in a contract ?

If the original was £82 that went up to £88 in 3 months, it is possible that initial increase was one of virgins price rises (wasn't it 4 price rises last year?) and is in line with customers paying £2.50 to £7 more as some were reporting. So 3 months in, going £82 to £88, leaves another 5 months for the further increase to £97. If no other services were taken and there are no extra telephone charges (084*, mobile or premium numbers) or additional movie purchases (kids?) then £11 in 5 months is pretty steep. £15 in 8 months is pretty bad too. Lots of variables that need to be ruled out before the increase is blamed on virgin. |
Re: Price Increases?
...but it's not two months wrong, it's at least 11 months rather than six, if you read both posts. Same complaint but non-consistent. What does that sound like?

Re: Price Increases?
If you have Sky Premiums, then yes you would get an increase about every six months - because VM increase their part of the package usually around April (although it was Feb this year)
Sky then increase their prices, including the ones VM charge for Sky Premiums, around September |
