Re: Making TiVo the best PVR ever!
Another couple of things I can think of:
- Either speeding up the process of applying series like/wishlist priority changes or making it run in parallel with reduced functionality e.g. you can use the box for watching TV, recordings etc... but can't set manage the recordings (as the latter could well play havoc with the priority setting transaction)
- ability to back up my settings e.g. series links, wishlists and priorities and while it is very unlikely ever happen, due to VM's relationship with broadcasters, I'd also like the ability to back up my recordings but keep them encrypted (i.e. back up the .tivo files) so that I can re-import them onto a new box if mine breaks down or an upgraded box comes out.

Surely everyone just presses 'My Shows' which would default to 'all/everyone'.

Re: Making TiVo the best PVR ever!
Adding multiple users to Tivo was entioned by VM a couple of years ago. It may even have been by the infamous Cindy Rose; I can't quite remember. For those who want it, you'd maybe best hope that it wasn't her if you want any chance of it happening?
I think the new US Tivo has four Tuners. That would be great, especially as the Multiroom Streaming, that would effectively have given us 6 tuners, is pretty useless given the very limited number of channels it supports.
As previously said, a way to back up series links and whishlists would be great, and the highest priority upgrade for me.

If VM can get the BT Sports channels I will seriously consider returning later in the summer when my contract with Sky runs out

Even if they don't get it in the XL pack, Virgin will be per account rather than per box on Sky so any families who watch sport are surely going to move to Virgin rather than shell out two+ BT Sports subscriptions.

Yep, I can totally see how VM getting BT sports would make Tivo the best PVR ever. Or maybe not.

Can't have the best PVR is there's nothing you want to record.

If you added separate user accounts then presumably I'd have to press my shows>Andy, rather than just my shows?

AFAIK any company that doesn't sell directly through Sky is per box.

So, given that no one has BT sports at the moment, I guess you don't use or need a PVR?
VM has loads of content. Granted, not as much as Sky, but it has loads. The discussion is about PVR functionality, not content. Taking the discussion down the content route will only lead to another Sky VS VM content debate which is a waste of time.
