Re: Slow Speeds 30MB VM Broadband

Thanks will do hate how much junk comes with a new machine have like 20 games and programs that I'll never use.

---------- Post added at 18:12 ---------- Previous post was at 17:40 ----------

Ok cleared about 20 games and 5 programs I'll never use and a shed load of other stuff with ccleaner

restarted pc not sure if faster or not, did do a speedtest again from the same place that reported m8 mbps results, alas still not 30mbps as the engineer said I should be getting, the download doesn't act haywire now stays roughly in one spot, however still takes a while for the upload connection to be made...

Edited...

tested again now with MSE & Windows Firewall slightly better results on download, ping better, upload still awful

I have exactly the same thing. But 3 other, almost identical, machines wired from the SHUB all have perfect UL speeds. VM's tech fiddled to get the levels as perfect as possible, but something about this machine screws the UL speed. Even changing the ethernet card has had no effect. Ditto leads, removing firewall, removing AV, spyware/adware/virus scans, changing SHUB ports, and a full format and basic reinstal!

I've trawled the net for fixes, tried all I found, but to no effect.....

Re: Slow Speeds 30MB VM Broadband

looks like the OPs machine glitched somewhere badly and a few correction attempts caused a complete lock up the OP reinstalled the OS (recovery) and is now getting max broadband speeds on the system.
