You can't really say that about the TiVo project, updates and improvements have been regular.

So, just make tivo behave like V+ for pin protection and everyone will be happy.
That is the plan. Currently we have to wait on the TiVo software getting changed to allow that behaviour.

thanks - how do you disable the PIN on the V+ box ?

I like to surf up and down the channels & am driven constantly nuts by the need to put in the pin every time I go up or down each film channel - I've given up bothering with the film channels mostly

large media distribution companies like VM really do need to try to meet the needs of their customers esp over films - you can view films all over the Internet without all this hassle

soon people will stop subscribing as they apparently doing big-time in the USA atm

nb : my kids are all grown up now so there are no children <18 here so I really really resent these patronising restrictions

Re: Pin Number Required.......WTF

You can't disable the PIN on the subscription film channels before the watershed. It's an Ofcom requirement.

Ben B is referring to the ability to remove the PIN request when playing back a recording that was made after the watershed. At the moment you can't do this on TiVo.
