I dont want the BBC service.
I DO NOT have an option to remove BBC and pay no licence fee.
Thats the problem.

Cripes, here we go, again ...
The licence fee is not a subscription to the BBC. That's why you can't remove it. The licence fee is the means by which the UK Government has chosen to ensure the UK has a quality TV and radio broadcast system that is not compromised by commercial or political pressures. You benefit from the BBC's existence whether you watch/listen to/browse its content or not.

Is this the level of understanding that Dave has of economics.

He (Dave) also said: "We are not cutting it, just freezing it."

Surely, in real terms that is a cut.

He's not aiming his comments at economists, he's talking to the world out there. There are some expert Tory-bashers on this forum, but on current standing I don't think you're one of them.

Re: Dave saves the economy
I thought it was a good idea and shows what a lot of people are thinking in terms of the licence fee. As for the rest of flyboy's comments god the ignore feature is a wonderful thing . Also i see many people complaining about how the tories are not declaring their policy's well can you blame them i wouldn't either everytime they do and if it's a good one it gets nicked by a certain bunch and then reworded so keep stum till the election dave and then hit em with a few surprises.

a) Would you care to clarify your accusation re nepotism?
b) I work in a publicy funded organisation, and we have had our budgets frozen (last year, this year, and next year) - why should the BBC (or any other public organisation) be any different (and I am a big fan of the BBC, and happy to pay my licence fee)?
btw, your friend's soundbite is high on buzzwords, low on content - low signal to noise ratio (imho) - is your "friend" a politician or a journalist?

LOL. Very witty. I thought I would over simplify the post, to help the CONservative supporters understand.

Gladly. His mother-in-law Annabel Astor (yes, she of the Astors), gave her bestest buddy Michael Green, the then chairman of Carlton Television, a sly telephone call to get him a job in PR. As a side note of course, he was the one who lost the company the franchise for ITV Digital, losing the company one billion three hundred thousand pounds.
But then his whole "career" has been one long nepotistic run. His entry into the CONservative party itself was arranged for him. Then there's Gideon sorry, George Osborne (why did he have to change his name?). He didn't really get the job because they were in the Bullington Club together, now did he?

And I admire your commitment and dedication, so surely you can see what fee freezing will do to public services such as this.

Ah, the internet, home of unfounded unprovable rumours, based on a book-plugging article by a New Statesmen reporter in the Indy. Slight problem - he started at Carlton in July 1994, and married his wife in June 1996; but let's not let facts ruin a good scurrilous libel, shall we?

As a side note, Carlton's consortium won the digital franchise, which became OnDigital (launched in 1998), but it later folded due to lack of subscribers.

Do I detect a slight note of bitterness and, perhaps, envy there? If someone made the same comments about someone from the "working class" who was successful in politics, they would be, quite rightly, accused of being "a snob" - I think the same thing is true in reverse - you appear to be judging a person by the circumstances of his birth. The Class War is so last century

What I have found since I moved from the private sector to the publicly-funded sector is that there were ways of getting more for the same - better resource utilisation, using more cost-effective suppliers, and cutting out a lot of manual processing that could be work-flowed through IT systems and process engineering; there were/are so many things done in a certain way because they have always been done in a certain way.
