Re: New Printer - B&W Only (Laser) ?

I know mine needs a new photo conductor at around 25k pages but then again I'm not the printer will last that long. (I should imagine it will take a while to hit 25k pages with the amount of printing I do)

I concur - I use a HP Laserjet 4P, about 14 years old and still going strong

Toner is cheap and long-lasting, too.

These are pretty much the standard for cheap lasers

usually about £49

or £42 + del - here

so around 4p per page even if you bought a new printer each time it runs out ! - a lot less then ink jet ( unless using refilled carts)

Toner is cheaper in the long run.

A few years ago they said that a litre of inkjet ink was more expensive than rocket fuel.

Re: New Printer - B&W Only (Laser) ?

For my two cents worth, as a budding script writer I have in the past bought two HP laser printers, cheap enough but the dam things never print straight. Now I will not touch HP, again.

I spent a bit more money and bought an Epson AL-2600, - at least it prints straight.
