why switch off modem at night? Being green? When switching back on leave it 30 seconds before switching router back on.

Can somebody please help me with this as its a bit tedious, and I've tried on other forums but no one seems to reply!!

Sorry when you do what? It's a service, not designed to be switched off! Leave it on.

I have both Modem & router on same 4 way and as long as you power them 1st amd wait till lights are on modem before powering on PC you should be ok. I got the same problem when powering on PC 1st.
I have PC on suspend to Ram on a different socket and leave it on.

the simple answer, stop turning off the router, (and the VM CM)its suposed to be kept turned on, thats the point, its only a few milliamp and takes virtually no power, especially compared to your LAN side connected PC kit.

what operating system, xp or vista. Ether way find the printer on the pc, right click, go into properties. Click on share ( something like that)
Then go on laptop, click add printer, then find printer on network.
That is working from memory, so might be some small errors.

Re: LinkSys WRT54GS with Virgin Broadband, help needed!
I am running on Windows XP.
Every time i try to set this up it says on my laptop that the printer cannot be found on the network? Even though i have definitely set it up right on my desktop PC it still says this! Arrgghh!!

This sort of networking kit is designed to be left running 24 hours a day. Unless there is a particular reason why you have to, or want to, turn it off, just leave it on.
