Just got an e-mail from Aria....The Mobo is DOA. Just as i first thought.

I have ASRock board (K7S..something) which won't boot without a working battery. It was nearly thrown out as faulty until I tested the battery

Asrock has a function called B.F.G. It can be enabled or disabled. Mess with it.

Boards can be used without a battery, restoring defaults from the EEPROM. In this mode, date and time are not maintained.

All asrock boards will still post without a battery.

In some cases you may need to clear the CMOS settings but rare in an Asrock k7 series.
