Re: New PC build?

Sounds to me like is is the RAM or the CPU as these are the most critical components that would have that effect although the graphics card could also stop you from even seeing a post if it is non compat or faulty.

Try the G/Card t..

Re: New PC build?

process of ellimination time

remove all sata and ide devices and one stick of the ram then try. If the same remove all the ram and you should get error beeps if not remove gfx so all that is installed is the cpu again you should if you dont then the mobo is shafted imo

Have you installed all the power you need to to the motherboard ? 24 pin if needed and 4 pin 12 v?

Re: New PC build?

Could be a fubared PSU as well.

Re: New PC build?

Could even be a duff battery.

Re: New PC build?

Duff battery won't stop you from booting a pc. ,,,,,still think there is a graphics problem...

Dinny quote me though..

Re: New PC build?

Isn't it the battery that enables it to do a POST?

I had a system do a simlar thing and it was down to silicon paste being dried out on the heatsink... I just replaced it with fresh paste and it booted up fine :) It was a newly built system too.

Re: New PC build?

The battery just powers a chip that stores updated bios information. The bios chip itself stores default settings and does not need the battery to boot a system

Re: New PC build?

Right. I`ve tried all all know and i still think the Mobo is shot.
Still won`t boot with out anything other than the bare essentials installed.
Tested the power supply with a power supply tester funnily enough :D and green lights all the way.
Just waiting for Aria to send me an RMA.
Cheers all for your help.
Bud.
