For £1 a month you can get a fully itemised bill (all calls itemised).

If you do not want to pay that you get all calls over 50p itemised for free.

As far as I know most of Ntl's direct competitors (Sky, BT, Vonage, Skype, TalkTalk, 18185.com) all provide on-line billing facility's!

If you want to stick with Ntl for line rental then take a look at 18185.com and see how much you could save on calls as well as the £12 a year

Personally if I was with Ntl I'd resent paying £12 a year when you have no choice but to pay it if you want to make sure your bill is correct.

In fact you can get all the info you need for £10 a year if you so wish by asking for a subject access request under the DPA! Now there's a thought - if people stopped their itemised bills and asked for a SAR every year Ntl would soon drop it!

If you want Itemised billing, pay the £ a month, if you don't, don't it's THAT simple.
I am afraid you have lost the plot. I am not a whiner. I don't like being cheated. Be £1 or £100.

I might just do that. A great suggestion. You could ask for calls of less than 20p too.

That is certainly not clear in the Telewest documentation. I hope what you say is correct.

Anyway it had the desired effect and I got some useful feedback on the subject from everyone. A good forum.

Lets hope the combined NTL / Telewest use the technical advantage they have and provide us with new and improved services at a reasonable price.

They do seem to have mishandled their new pricing announcement. Not the clearest communication going.

Thanks for your feedback.

with regards to the free voicemail you could hang up before it gets to that, most voicemails kick in after 5 rings, so dial the number if no-one answers hang up.
BT dont charge for itemised billing its just off by default, but its a free optional upgrade.
