Nope, can't do repair." Action cannot be completed: Renewing your IP address."
What does that mean?

Prime candidates are usually P2P programs, Firewalls, AV programs, other users, your router (exceptionally).

Do you get the same symptoms if you try to do it from safe mode?

If you don't then it is likely to be one of the programs that runs when you first start your PC.

Yeah, I got Sygate personal firewall. But it was on before and I was able to disable without any probs. Anyway, I just disabled it and tried to disconnect again but I stil got the same message.
The reason I asked was this
http://www.mytechsupport.ca/support/...?TOPIC_ID=5292
where Sygate had fouled up and was causing the problem. Can you uninstall Sygate to check if it resolves the problem?

Re: Unable to disable connection

Thanks guys, again, but I did the cowardly thing and did a ghost restore. Lucky for me I did a full back up last week so i haven't lost much. I did have to re-install all the BB as I only joined in Friday. But that was no problem, this time. I can now right click and disable from the control panel.

I now notice that NTL email is out. Some sort of maintenance. I will have to wait until the morning to test my outlook express.
Thx again.
Great forum
