Re: Problems gaming since 1.5MB upgrade

The games I play are originals although they dont require the CD inserted for multiplayer mode.

I reported this problem to NTL broadband support and am waiting a response until then, could someone elighten me as what is meant by "choke" and how I can resolve this?

Hi Robberto,

Apologies seem to have missed this thread for my reply.

Firstly "choke" basically measures the amount of data being sent to and from the PC bearing in mind the servers will be far more quicker than the PC.

As your on cable the optimum setting should be 15000 or higher.

Pending on the server you use you will need to find their equivalent of the net_graph command to show your current settings.

I am not a major gamer myself so can only point in the right direction as such and maybe more help can be found by taking a look here

Ps you said you have reported to NTL, what have they said so far on the Power Level issue ??

Re: Problems gaming since 1.5MB upgrade

After No repsonse from NTL support at all. I scowered through hundreds of forums and finally solved this problem. Apparently the culprit was the PUNKBUSTER client which enbeds itself into games. This was NOT compatible with ATI drivers and was causing the slow frame rate. After manually upgrading the punkbuster client this problem has been resolved.

Thanks for your suggestions and help though guys much appriciated.
