Queens Park Rangers have completed the signing of Nedum Onuoha from Manchester City on a four-and-half-year contract.

The defender, who played under Mark Hughes when the Welshman was manager of City, moves to Loftus Road for an undisclosed fee.

The 25-year-old spent last season on loan at Sunderland but has found opportunities limited at City.

"Nedum is a player I know well," Hughes told QPR's official website. "He is a very good addition to the squad."

Errr loads of clubs going to the wall instead of hardly any and besides at least 3 of Pompys owners were Gaydamak and his cronies. So that's trains, airports and football you have no idea about...

Re: Football Season 2011/12

Yes lets remove the current top 7 in the league and move them into a european super league. The current teams would get so much more money with barely anyone watching the premierleague but rather tuning in to see big teams clash in the other league.

The Premierleague is only the best because of the millions of people around the world tuning in to watch the top clubs

I'll think you'll also find Newcastle United are not even remotely close to being bust and are currently sitting in 6th place level on points with Arsenal having barely spent anything in the summer.

Its the disgraceful wages that are paid to players, and when owners take over they forget this.

Players may only have short careers especially when the end of with broken legs that sometimes don't heel properly and have to retire early, BUT no players is worth the prices they earn today, and the agent fees cripple clubs.

The FA,the Football League, and the Premier League must place a wage cap on clubs, as players from the lower leagues don't live up to the wages that are paid by clubs and get put on the side.

Players like John Terry who is on £125.000 per week, that could be the entire wage for a club from the lower leagues.

This is why clubs go out of business, and new owners take over clubs to see how much they can get back in about 12 months to see if they can get a massive profit..
I've said it before and will say it again it is the agent fees that are half the problem. If you add up all the money that pompey have given to agents since 2006 it probably covers the tax bill with room to spare.

Any money paid to agents is money that leaks out of the game and doesn't get reinvested anywhere. If this money stayed in the game and was stopped they ticket prices would be cheaper.

Only in football would you have to pay money to someone else just to talk to them on the phone when the rules state that actually you have to talk to them through the clubs anyway.

It's high time FIFA and UEFA did something about this but the game makes so much money these days I don't think any of them care anymore

"Wilshere had a little setback which is under investigation," Wenger said on Friday. "We don't know yet how bad it is. He has pain again in his ankle (when running). We stopped him right away. He is seeing a specialist today, so I do not want to give you any wrong information."

Arsenal need to do something about the medical department, it's absurd.

Re: Football Season 2011/12

Though I agree with the medical department being somewhat of a joke, this injury to Jack to me is just unfortunate.

Wengers dealings with transfers, keeping hold of flops, tactics etc. have all come back to bite him. Anyway with regards to being able to sign heads.. he can't because of the wage structure. We have players on huge salaries out on loan no good for the club.. how about that for just 1 problem

if we do it'll be a bonus. it just adds to the history; Tommy, Diaby, Rosicky, Gibbs, Van Persie etc. etc. the list just goes on and on..

Paris Saint-Germain have completed the £4.2m signing of Alex from Chelsea.

Alex, who is believed to have signed a three-year deal, will link up with his former Blues boss Carlo Ancelotti in the French capital.

The Brazilian, 29, handed in a transfer request after slipping down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge following the arrivals of David Luiz and Gary Cahill.

"He is a great professional," said Ancelotti. "It was a good opportunity given his price."
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/16752142.stm

Quote:
Managers of Liverpool and Manchester United have urged players to act responsibly during Saturday's FA Cup fourth-round tie at Anfield.

It is the first time the teams have met since Luis Suarez was banned for eight matches for racially abusing Patrice Evra in the 1-1 draw in October.

Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish said: "We have a responsibility to behave."

United counterpart Sir Alex Ferguson added: "We want to make sure we are talking about the game, nothing else."
Quote:
Dalglish also called for the focus to be on events on the pitch.

"Obviously everybody has a responsibility to hold up the name of their respective clubs," he added.

"For us, we want to concentrate on playing football and any other sideshow is purely that - it's just a sideshow

Quote:
Liverpool managing director Ian Ayre, meanwhile, wants "rivalry not hatred" with Manchester United.

Ayre said: "We mustn't detract from fans chanting and singing at each other but it needs to be a rivalry thing rather than a hatred thing."

There have been fears that the bitter relationship between the two sets of fans could reach new levels after the Suarez suspension, resulting in an ugly atmosphere at the match
Yes l will echo that and lets hope for a good fair competitive game of football in which we are talking about the football after the game and not about abuse or anything else untoward.
