I wish I knew for sure lowei, but it could be a combination of ping, jitter and bandwidth. Obviously quality comes into it somewhere just not sure how it works.

How much jitter do you get on pingtest.net to the london server.

Ive noticed on MW2 that most games for me play at 50ms ping but that can and does increase up into the 100's but always plays smoothest when I,m in a 70 to 80 ms ping game.

I've seen lots of different answers to that such as

1.sends packets and whoever receives them the quickest is host
2. picks the worse connection
3. goes off upload speed

never found the right answer though judging by some recent games Ive had I think it picks those furthest away from everybody else, i.e a tent in the middle of the sahara. Does seem abit random as I was picked as host with good and bad line quality

Well they seem pretty consistent, I take it your power levels are all good.
