Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2011) Vol. I.
The UKTV HD channels absence has always seemed an odd position to me. I know staff have said UKTV is separate to VM and that it has an independent board, I don't doubt that.
But can anyone really imagine BSkyB allowing channels they have a share in to launch exclusively on a rival platform?
I'll probably get low viewing figures thrown at me to justify their absence for saying that but I bet they are better than Cinemoi's ratings!

Not sure, VM don't announce anything about negotiations or details of channel agreements normally.

It is a very strange situation that VM have got themselves into regarding UK TV. I cannot imagine BSkyB allowing that to happen in any way, shape or form.

Agreed. The lack of HD channels from a compaany that VM part own, but the same channels being availabe on a rival platform, should be down right embarassing to VM!

For me VM are really missing a trick with Eden HD. Not only does this type of channel really benefit from HD but it's brimming with native content too.
Then again I suppose it's down to personal taste, lots of people on here really want ESPNA HD but in reality its weekly reach for the SD channel is miniscule, I would guess it's only available on Sky because of their different pricing model.

Yes, Eden HD would be a good addition.

Even more bizarre is saying a channel is coming in a press release then not following through.

It has been replaced by free online red button service on Sky (Community Channel). Online is much easier though given the dial up modem!
I reported a fault with DirectGov on VM when I got V+ installed, I could never use it properly as certain features made the box crash.
It worked fine on the V Box, Bloomberg was the same.

Can I remind members that discussion of reps is not allowed in the public forum. Reps are private and should be kept as such.

You appear to be confusing (Marketing and) Communications with Telecommunications....
