when virginmedia get the sky sports HD channels soon, will we also get sky sports news HD ? How come they changed the channel number from 517 to 515 ?

Sky Sports News HD may come later on, it's not confirmed as yet (the story of Digital Spy has been amended). The channel numbers were likely changed to make any new channels fit into the line up

The Sports 1&2 HD channels lauched 2nd Aug and Sky Sports New HD lauched around the 23rd - few posts back but only Sky but it does seem VM will have the option.

That link was a Sky one, so at this stage there hasn't been any official details from VM about interactive services

HD channels are now up

Film 4 HD on channel 429 with the sky movie channels starting at 431 going to 442

And sky sports HD 1 and HD 2 on 517 and 518

There are still 5 test channels left on the guide and 516 is still empty
so looks like still more channels to come ?

516 will be for SSN HD when it launches, 432 will be for SM PREM +1 at a guess. Just my opinion mind.

From what I can gather there was only ever a rumour that XL and VIP customers would have HD on Premium content like Sky Sports and Sky Movies included, so there seems to be a lot of angst over rumour and speculation.

On the plus side -
- Five HD Launched the other day
- Film Four HD is launching tomorrow
- Sky Sports News HD is launching soon

All of which from what I can gather will be included in the XL / VIP packages.
We already have a wide range of other HD channels like ESPN, Living etc included.

Yes, people have a choice of whether to spend £7 on the HD versions of sports and movies, it's not as though it is a choice between having or not having the channels at all.

Lets focus on the good news and if you subscribe to movies and sports you can still watch them in SD, you don't have to pay the extra £7 if you don't want to

That's the way I see it. Hard to be believe it's only a year when the forum was excited about the arrival of the first of our HD channels. It's important that VM customers now have a choice. I'm content with that.
