It's because you are getting the SH2.

If you have the SH1 already, you can opt out of getting the SH2 and get an over the phone upgrade

Cool thanks for the explanation but will happily take the SH2 offer, was a nice surprise as I though the SH2 was coming out later in the year.

I assume, when I get my bill I can call up and request the instillation reduction the sales guy offered me? Unless he was telling porkies.

I would double check that, as unless he's noted the account you will have a bit of an argument. The reduction isn't part of any current offer, if it was it wouldn't have to be done manually.

Oh I see, I guess I will have to wait and see and kinda hope he did note the account then. I assume it won't hurt to ask later on.

Ring in and try, you'll only be one of 3 million who will be ringing in since hearing about a new CPE.

I don't use my superhub wirelessly as for some reason it doesn't cover most of the rooms in our house. But we have the new white Sky hub as well for our Sky connection which covers our whole house perfectly.

I run 2 ethernet cables from the superhub 1 into a xbox, 1 into a laptop, and the wireless is turned off as its useless.

EDIT*

I also turn the thing off when not in use as the power supply buzzes and whistles, fire hazard anyone?

Nope no fire hazard. Ring up or post on the community forum and they can send a fix one out.

Re: superhub 2

I had a SHub replaced this morning (Blue Lights of Death), engineer when asked about SHub2 couldn't tell me when they are to be issued.
