Well i have just got it sorted finally and being installed on the 20th!
The 1st lady i spoke basically said because i didnt receive the email i would have to wait til Monday to order but i said no because i pre-registered i want it put through before then and she spoke to the manager and they put me through to the Tivo team
As long as they turn up Wednesday i will be happy lol, i might ring up Tuesday just to verify it has been put through.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
AFAIK (from posts in this and the Tivo forums) it's because of contractual limits that certain providers have placed on VM.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
Well, just as I thought, never, ever trust the off shore call ctr!!!!
Contract came through this morning ready for install next week, and it was for £112 per month, it should have been £75!!!!! 1 phone call to the UK call ctr and contract was rectified, but during that call it transpires that the manager i spoke to at the off shore call ctr has failed to apply the credit for the free upgrade of the V box to a VHD box!!!!! So the UK call ctr has to email the off shore and then I have to call back to ensure the credit has been applied!!!
I detest the off shore call ctrs that Virgin use, not once have I ever had a problem sorted by them, and more often then not they are the cause of the problems as they lie and then try to cover their tracks!!!!
Ah well, complaint has been submitted, thankfully I called on th 084 number so the exact time and duration of the call is showing on my bill so they can not deny the call took place, just the content of the call needs to be sorted out!!!

I just figured that out, I haven't looked at the original V+ remote in years as I have a Harmony One and Have been using the Menu button as the Home key.
Now have a bunch of sequences set up as shortcuts to those commands.
And to top it all of here is a first in the 14 odd years I have been a cable customer, the installer just phoned me and there have been a few cancellations today and I am in the area, I know its a PM install but to you mind if I come now?
Woohooo should be all Tivoed up soon.

Just tried to select a channel from the EPG ( with the C )and if you press OK it will ask you to play this show, click OK again and it will take you to a page where you can play it ( Not the main catch up page )
Hope this makes sense.

I was originally told by VM it was 50+k, then I read on someones blog (DF maybe?) that it was 70+k. In other words, I use the lastest figure available. No big conspiracy

Yes, I know that's not exactly what you posted but my point is that it hasn't really been "a fiasco" at all. They simply had far more pre-reg's than expected; at which point, maybe things got little hairy is all.
|
Fiasco is too strong a word, but anyone who doesn't admit that there have been problems and the whole thing could have run a lot smoother, is, in my view, wearing the same rose coloured glasses that you are.
Without people like DF and and others like him on this forum, telling us what was going on, I'm sure VM would have had a lot more complaints about various aspects of the whole process.

Let us know how TiVo plays with your Harmony One, I'm getting mine installed on Tuesday so will have to reprogram the Harmony soon!
