Re: my aunties slow pc!
I have to go with Smicer on this one, it'd probably be more economic than trying to source PC66/100/133 SDRAM

I can get branded pc100 anytime I want pretty much.
Cheapest pc I sell is £250(To wer only) and I make fair profit on that

Yeah, some laptops are sold with that now (Advent 7094 i'm looking at you).
I personally wouldn't touch anything with less than 1 GB now and am considering upping the desktop to 2.
Nick - no offence but with that information i wouldn't be confident in finding you any compatible RAM to the extent I'd be equally confident in saying putting the Derby Ram in there would make a difference

Re: my aunties slow pc!
allright anyway i found the source of the slowness. she has just gone from talk talk with a usb modem to bt with a usb router. thats what was making it very slow so we got a £8 LAN card from PCWORLD and since i didnt have to install any drivers it has stopped freezing and going slow. Bloody BT! GRRR!

Why bloody BT? If the computer cant handle a heavy USB device, then how is that BTs fault?

But it's not BTs fault you didn't check out the hardware for bottle-necking

Re: my aunties slow pc!
To be honest you could replace that pc for her with something twice as fast for the cost and trouble it would take to find some RAM for it, even a 750mhz old p3 would seem like a Ferrari compared to what she has, and you could even move the HD over with her stuff on as a slave and install xp onto the primary HD of the new system.
