Thumbs down [Merged]NTL price increase

I just received a letter from NTL prices are going up for TV packages from 1.9.2006. Am considering reducing to basic pack, may be I'll do it after Christmas.

Re: NTL price increase

ive had the same letter, it really does make sky's tv package that bit more desireable now espescially with the 6 months skysports free which means it will be 31quid a month cheaper than i am paying now!!!!!!!

Re: NTL price increase

I beg to differ there, im currently paying 46 quid going up to 48 on 1st september for family and all skysports. i can get the same package on sky for 35 quid and thats 17.50 for the first 6 months!!!! how does that work out to ntl being the same price as sky?

Because ntls 48 a month includes a phone line which sky's doesn't? or maybe because it's a special offer, not the regular tarriff? You cannot compare apples with oranges.

Edit - I've just looked at the Sky website. It's 36 a month with the sports package free for 6 months.

Have you looked at any of ntls deals? Until you do, you can't compare.

Re: NTL price increase

Am I correct in thinking that NTL's family pack will be increasing to £20.50 all in?

Anyone got any links to the price increase info?

Plus, once your 6 months free is over, it'll cost you £43.50 per month if you want to keep the full package...

Well, don't forget that, if you did get Sky, you'd need a BT line for the first 12 months as part of the T&Cs

It doesn't need a phone line at all, you'll just have to pay installation fees etc.

Re: NTL price increase

Just phone NTL's retentions line
0800 052 9403

Tell them you'll be off to Sky, because of etc etc
And i can almost guarantee that they'll reduce your bills for 3 months, and the NTL CS will probably tell you to call after the 3 months to get it again.

Thats why they are probably upping their prices, because their giving half price deals to every tom, d1ck and harry that phones retentions.
