Just downloaded it myself as i couldn't wait for the 360 demo. I must say it didn't blow me away and it seems to me like an intelligent Quake. Thats not to say Quake isn't a great game, it just Prey didn't feel very original.
Considering all the games i want are a fair way away from being completed, this was going to be the one i bought to keep me going and now i am left with a 50-50 feeling of should i or shouldn't l.
I can't say i like using the mouse/keyboard very much so maybe with a pad in me hands it might feel better. When looking at the options, maybe the half saying buy it will win out!

Im kind of the opposite, i dont really want this for the PC as the hasstle of PC gaming is becoming too much these days, but the mouse /keyboard combo beats the hell out of my 360 pad.
Still, im downloading it now and i'll give it a bash, no doubt it wont work first time, thanks for the heads-up.

sorry to hear you didnt enjoy it but quake ? I really dont think its like that at all tbh. I think its an excellant game thats changing the standards of pc fps games. I respect your opinion but I still think its an excellant game from what I have seen and from playing the demo. guess the full game will let us see alot more.

No i don't want to put anyone off it, was just giving my initial impressions. I think what drew the comparrisons with Quake was the bodies flying around and then getting mutilated, that was very Quake 4. The weapons look like they could have been imported into Quake without anyone noticing and the monsters too! However, it is far, far cleverer than Quake regardless of whether anyone thinks its similar.
I will wait for the 360 version before i make my mind up, so i don't want to put anyone off downlading the demo.
I suppose ultimately i have to make the decision whether to buy for £40 or rent for £10 a month (i use flirtrental and will prolly end up costing £5 to rent and beat it). I will beat it whatever, it's whether or not i want it in my collection!

Re: Prey demo (PC) available
Downloaded the 360 version and I can't say I was impressed. Game looks too dark, gfx appear more Xbox rather than 360, and nothing really original in the game.

I agree, having now played the 360 version i can't say i am any more impressed. Originality is the problem and my comparison to Quake IV still stands and other friends have compared a couple of bits to Halflife. If comparisons can be made then inevitably it won't feel original.
There are some cool original parts that's for deffinite, just not enough to warrant a £40 outlay. Looks like i will be renting for a fiver.
Shame, cos this was my banker until the glut comes out in the last quarter!

Re: Prey demo (PC) available
It's quite good - but I get the impression I may need a better pc to play it properly
