NTL POP3 and SMTP problems?

I haven't received any emails from my NTL account all day - POP3 via Outlook. A friend of mine has just sent me an email to a non-NTL account.. and it hasn't got through.

NTL email problems both incoming and outgoing?

(POP3 solved.. NTL account buggered in Outlook. Wonder if it's done it to the other accounts?)

Re: NTL POP3 and SMTP problems?

I have a "new" pc and have loaded Outlook 2002 (via MS XP Office). I have set up my pop3 mail account as I did before in Outlook ie pop.ntlworld.com and smtp.ntlworld.com. I have the correct user name, passwords etc. Pop3 incoming port SSL is set to 110 and outgoing SMTP port SSL is set to 25.

Error message as follows - "Log on to incoming mail server (POP3): The specified server was found but there was no response from the server. Please verify that the port and SSL information is correct. To access these settings close this dialog, then click More Settings, then the Advanced tab."

Underneath the same message but prefixed by "Send test e-mail message"

Tony P check this link out it's for Outlook Express but they are very much the same now, a few cosmetic differences with the email settings

the error would say otherwise tho but why mention SSL? it isnt needed and can just confuse the issue

make sure you havent gota firewall blocking access and delete and recreate the account, the servers are working
