Sounds good.
Any more tech details? Mobo, memory?
How much did it set you back in the end for Proc, mobo & mem?

And I thought my P4 ran hot any way (65C underload). Good luck with the overclocking!

Excellent stuff, but crank it up - you know you want to!

When the metal can on top of the chip goes ping you've gone too far.

Hmm, wee need the goodies mate, 3ghz is not close to what was promised really.

How is your Mobo for multiplyiers, are you able to adjust CPU speed independant of memory speed?

Re: [Merged] 4.1 Ghz Dual Core Pentium 805 Monster

yeah theres a multiplier for the ram as well as the cpu.Im gonna order me a hsf for it and see im gonna try for 3.4 once I get it.Should make 3.6 will just notching up the vcore. The stock hsf is bilge and seeing as ive never built a PGA 775 until now I dunno how easy its gonan come off lol.
All thats stopping me is the stock fan
Any idea what the upper threshold is on these chips save me looking myself lol lol

---------- Post added at 13:51 ---------- Previous post was at 13:13 ----------

Ok 3.2 gig case side off and its 54-56 degrees running prime95 stock cooling
This is a nuts cpu

---------- Post added at 14:19 ---------- Previous post was at 13:51 ----------

Ok underclocked the ram to 3.33 x multiplier and upped the fsb to 170
posted a booted at 3.4 gig test time

---------- Post added at 14:30 ---------- Previous post was at 14:19 ----------

so far no difference in temps this is nuts

---------- Post added at 14:31 ---------- Previous post was at 14:30 ----------

screenie Bare in mind this is stock cooling and no increase in vcore

Re: [Merged] 4.1 Ghz Dual Core Pentium 805 Monster

you provide the download lol Im not pushing it any further with stock cooling but its nuts though isnt it.Wish id bought a better hsf im enjoying this.Gonna let prime95 run all after noon then run 3dmark 2001 or 2003 for a couple of hours.
My main prob is the gfx is passive cooled might strap an 80 mm on it lol

My advice is if you got 200 quid to spend play with one of these babies

I am now thinking about getting one of these babies. My Athlon XP 2100 is getting a bit long in the tooth for me.

Woot! BTW Thanx for keeping us up-to-date on it matey...

I'm tempted to take the advice of a certain NTHW clanner (who shall remain nameless for legal reasons) and swap my HD out, drop my computer down the stairs and then claim on the insurance. Knowing my luck i'll end up doing porridge for it.
