speed test result

Thu, 22 Jun 2006 14:18:07 UTC

1st 512K took 2172 ms = 235.7 KB/sec, approx 1942 Kbps, 1.9 Mbps
2nd 512K took 2172 ms = 235.7 KB/sec, approx 1942 Kbps, 1.9 Mbps
3rd 512K took 2156 ms = 237.5 KB/sec, approx 1957 Kbps, 1.91 Mbps
4th 512K took 2156 ms = 237.5 KB/sec, approx 1957 Kbps, 1.91 Mbps

Overall Average Speed = approx 1950 Kbps, 1.91 Mbps.

Can one of you clever chaps give somebody who does n't understand (me ) a clue what this means?
I have just found out that for 6 months of paying for 2meg i was only getting 1meg! and now ntl have said i have been upgraded to 4 meg.
Does these results tell you what speed BB i am on?

Thanks in advance.

1st 512K took 3665 ms = 139.7 KB/sec, approx 1151 Kbps, 1.12 Mbps
2nd 512K took 3445 ms = 148.6 KB/sec, approx 1224 Kbps, 1.2 Mbps
3rd 512K took 3455 ms = 148.2 KB/sec, approx 1221 Kbps, 1.19 Mbps
4th 512K took 3355 ms = 152.6 KB/sec, approx 1257 Kbps, 1.23 Mbps
Overall Average Speed = approx 1213 Kbps, 1.19 Mbps

Unfortunately, but realistically, 2mb means up to 2mb.

The CS rep probably thought your area had been upgraded - that joy has yet to come.

Re: speed test result

I live in the Bexleyheath, Kent area and am, as far as I know, still on a 2MB connection.

Thu, 22 Jun 2006 19:32:29 GMT

1st 512K took 1753 ms = 292.1 KB/sec, approx 2407 Kbps, 2.35 Mbps
2nd 512K took 1592 ms = 321.6 KB/sec, approx 2650 Kbps, 2.59 Mbps
3rd 512K took 1622 ms = 315.7 KB/sec, approx 2601 Kbps, 2.54 Mbps
4th 512K took 1573 ms = 325.5 KB/sec, approx 2682 Kbps, 2.62 Mbps

Overall Average Speed = approx 2585 Kbps, 2.53 Mbps

Either I'm doing well on 2Mb or am doing poorly on a 4Mb connection.

Can anyone tell me when my area is being upgraded to 4Mb please?

Thanks,

Martyn
