MENTOR Broadband Router problem..

I know this may sound stupid, I know this maybe be simpler then I think, but I simply can not find a way to connect to the router so I could configure it!! it is connected to my modem (Italy's Alice adsl) and my computers are also connected, and all the light are right as they are supposed to be by the instructions, and still, when I try to run http://192.168.1.1 from my browser like it says in the instruction, I get nothing!!

Can any one please help me out on this?? what am I doing wrong, what am I missing??

Thanks.

Re: MENTOR Broadband Router problem..

Are you specifying a proxy in your internet browser settings? If you then that could be stopping the config screen from showing.
Check that your PCs are connected to the LAN side ports and the internet service is connected to WAN, open IE, go into Tools, Internet Options, Connections, Lan Settings and check that you aren't using a proxy.
Do you run any firewall software at all?

Re: MENTOR Broadband Router problem..

Well, I do not have a proxy that I know of (this is my home computer, my home adsl account, and my home modem, router and such..), and I do have a firewall (sygate personal) but I switched it off to make this attampts. Do you think there is a possibilty that the firewall some how still blocks the connection even after I turn it off?? should I uninstall it or configure it not to load on start up??

Thank.

Do
Start
Run
enter "cmd" (no quotes)
click OK
enter "ipconfig" (no quotes) and press Enter
and tell us what the Default Gateway IP is?

Thanks

Re: MENTOR Broadband Router problem..

Well, since I have done this before with other modems and other routers, I actually took the time to check on this, and it looks just fine:

ip - 192.168.1.3
mask - 255.255.255.0
gateway - 192.168.1.1

Thanks.

Re: MENTOR Broadband Router problem..

Well... since I don't have any type of proxy on my systen any where, and never had, actually, it seems that this would be a line of action I can't actually take.
And no, I have no proxy configured in my browser's settings.

Thanks.
