I've just got ntl broadband (10mbps) and when I connect my PC directly into the ntl cable modem i get near enough 10mbps. The problem arises when I put my Linksys WRV54G router into the equation (I can only pull 300-400kB/s when the router is in). I'm pretty sure the problem is with my MTU setting, a search on the forum gives me too broad a set of results so I thought I would be better off asking for it here. Can anyone tell me what I should have MTU set to on the router connected to the ntl cable modem? I'm using the ntl 250 modem. Thanks in advance!
hmmmmmm ok thats not the problem then. It's really odd, I can get full speed if I have 3 or 4 downloads at once but with just the one I can only get full speed when connected straight into the modem.
Really annoying problem, especially when I can watch it go at 1.1-1.2MB/s when it's plugged in directly. I might phone linksys again but I doubt they know squat. My problem isn't even over wireless, it's over Cat5e.
