I would go to the hospital if I was you.
I was outside about 3 years ago welding, and my eyes started to ache in the evening. I just put it down to a bit of arc-eye, but noticed one was a lot worse than the other.
I woke up in the middle of the following night with the worst pain I have ever experienced, it was just like someone sticking a red hot poker in my eye.
Putting the lights on made it worse, so I had to get dressed in the dark and get my girlfriend to take me to hospital. They found a flake of rusty metal in my eye, as I was wearing goggles with the angle grinder I reckon I must of rubbed in from the sleeve of my overalls into my eye when I was wiping my brow.
I had weeks going back and fore the hospital, and the damage was spot on the centre of my eye. The initial visits were not too bad, even when they scraped the offending piece of rusty metal off with a "needle". The later visits got worse as my eye was getting better, the polishing sessions with a dremel like tool was the worst part.
If you have any doubt get it looked at, if I had gone straight away perhaps the damage wouldn't of been so bad. I still get the occassional session with blurred vision, but usually put that down to the beer.
