Network upgrades /Maintainence

When the status page shows work being done on your area overnight is that just on the broadband side or does that include digital tv as well ?
If not how often do you get routine maintainence overnight on the tv ? Just wondering as dont want to set set video and use diary if the box is affected regular.
It would be nice if we could get a network status page like telewest which has all known issues and planned work on it with regular updates on local faults personally i would feel this would cut the amount of calls to cs and faults if people could check for themselves.
Also anybody know what the difference is between network update and network optimisation is ? On the Ntl status page wondered what type of work is done whether one is resegs, changing qam's and other putting in new ubrs, fibre

Re: Network upgrades /Maintainence

Can anybody officially confirm whether any network work is being done over night this week as nothing is showing on the service status page.
I think there probaly isnt due to them having a big computer system update at weekend dont want any problems as only limited support.

Re: Network upgrades /Maintainence

There is definitely network stuff being done this week as I was cut off by it at 1:45am this morning. I had to reboot the modem later to get back on again, and got a new ip address - both classic signs.

Perhaps because of the "system upgrades" that have gone on, ntl couldn't get on to update the server status page with this week's scheduled maintenance

Re: Network upgrades /Maintainence

Im in Leicestershire area just have some important video conferences with LA and palm springs to do some time this week just dont want to get disconnected in the middle of them.
I thought it unusual to have no work goin on but though due to computer systems upgrade.
