mail boxes

Hi all
Got a small problem and I hope you may be able to help. I have been with NTL for about three years. When I set my original email address up I used what was in effect my given user ID e.g username@ntlworld.com. I added a few more mail boxes over time with no problem. I noticed that I could not delete the original 'username' mailbox as it said I was not allowed to modify this mailbox. I decided to make a new personal mail box for me and leave the original to fill up as it was getting tons of junk mail. I now see that it appears that I could delete the mailbox as the 'you cannot modify this mailbox' message has now gone.

Yesterday had a note form Admin telling me the account was over the watermark. As I don't use this box anymore can I safely delete it? I am not sure what to do as it is my original box with my current username. I was thinking if ever I need to reinstall my NTL account for whatever reason and I had deleted my original box would I still be alright.

Hope somebody can understand this and point me in the right direction.

Thanks

Re: mail boxes

If its your main account - what we call your radius account, then you wont be able to delete it - pm me your details, and i could change the name of it, or empty it for you

Get used to it.
The spam mail was sent to loads of people using the blind copy function.
It makes it easy to pick out as spam though, so just delete it.

P.S. NEVER open these messages, if you do you are just telling the sender that they have found a 'live' adress which will open the flood gates for dozens of similar messages. (abuse to spammers, not you Tijer )

Re: mail boxes

Hardly get spam in my ntlworld inbox, only use that addy for friends and family (must remember to give it to certain people LOL)
Hotmail is my spam receptacle (thanks Bill :p ) and I use mailwasher to sort through that.
As swoop says never open, reply or email them to ask to be removed from the lists as they will know it's a used account and sell the addy to someone else. That way they have complied with you and removed you from their list but you will now be on hundreds more

Re: mail boxes

Spam?....takes me to the fair!....currently getting 100 plus e-mails per day on my ntl a/c. Thank god for mail washer. Can ntl not filter this?......even a basic filter for "viagra, enlarge your p***s size, etc" would be a welcome addition to the service provided.
