Windows XP Express Email
Hi all
My wife and I have a joint email account in Express but have different log on name in XP. Can we set express so we can both read and send emails within our own log on names. I am not sure if the way forward is to set up express in each account or if it's possible to have it on one main account and then share it some how ?
Any recommendations on the best way forward.
Thanks
Mike

Re: Windows XP Express Email
Yep, you just need to point the second account at the same storage point as the first for email

Re: Windows XP Express Email
Are you showing hidden folders Mike? Why do you need to SEE the folder when Express should tell you what it is? After you find the location you just copy and paste it into the settings on the second profile.

Re: Windows XP Express Email
Not sure if this will help.
Open Outlook Express
Click on the TOOLS Menu and select OPTIONS
Click the MAINTENANCE Tab and then click on Store Folder
You now see the location of your Mail Folder.
Highlite the Folder Location and press CTRL+C to copy the location.
This tells you where emails are stored.
You can paste the link into notepad and print it out, or you can paste it into Start/Run box and it will show you the *.dbx files.

Good that we can both see the message but only one account seems to be able to receive them. In my account the send/receive button is active in the second account the send/receive button is greyed out.
Any ideas.

Re: Windows XP Express Email
You probably need to recreate the account in Outlook Express under the second logon.

Re: Windows XP Express Email
Er, I'm with Zeph on this, did you create the account on the second PC? If not then that is the problem. Create the account and then change the storage folder location, if that still leads to the same issue then post back and we will look into it further for you.
