Router question
Hi all!
My GF is a school teacher, they just supplied her with a decent lil Tosh laptop, nothing too hi-tec, but fairly decent for free ;-)
She connects to the school network whilst at work (internet, whiteboard etc..), would it be ok to sort out a router at home for us both to connect via our 2mb line?
Oh and whilst I think - would installing the NTL Software and connecting ethernet do anything to screw up her network settings...
Thanks in advance ;-)

I've been in this situation twice. My ex had a laptop which worked... but it screwed up her settings once she was in school. However, mine was fine, in a different school, with different settings. Check out how she gets online in school and what software it involves and look into it!

Re: Router question
if you install it on a local account then there shouldnt be a problem if internet settings are on a roaming account. the teachers at our school find it ok. one of them has whsmith and the school network because the school is wireless conection and the home is ethernet connection. if they were both wireless it would be ok but if they were both ethernet it might not be

Re: Router question
Dont bother installing the NTL software. you dont need it.
If you connect viua ethernet, it should be as simple as just plugging in the cable into the back and you are done.
Just make sure settings are set to automaticly detect settings in your Internet browser.
