I think we should be getting 2MB 4MB & 10MB right now, this month because this is what Telewest users get for the same price as NTL customers, they are 1 company right so what's the problem?

Re: 1mb > 2mb // 2mb > 4mb (free)

If the network is such a problem how come Telewest(Blueyonder) is able to handle it?

NTL's network can handle it, they're just being tight to us customers

Re: 1mb > 2mb // 2mb > 4mb (free)

A process whereby products across the two companies will be harmonised is in progress, and customers will see a merging of offerings from ntl and Telewest over the coming months.

Besides which, who says the Telewest network can handle it?

and it's clear the NTL network in parts is struggling to handle the existing speeds.

Re: 1mb > 2mb // 2mb > 4mb (free)

Well it must be able to handle it if they're trying to upgrade people to 10MB, if it couldn't they wouldn't be doing it until it could, if people are able to get 8MB or e ven 10MB in some areas, why can't they set 2MB and 4MB?

And I didn't moan about the cap, i was happy with 30GB, i use less then 20GB per month

Re: 1mb > 2mb // 2mb > 4mb (free)

Im on 1mb and thats fast enougth for what i do , im not to sure if i would want to be upgraded as i was with tiscali before ntl and they did the same thing upgraded everyone to the next level and where every thing was perfect with my conection as soon as i was upgraded ( with out them asking me if i wanted to be ) i kept getting my connection droppping out and in most cases not able to even get connected, so i would be worried the same thing would happen to me again.

you think the network been uncapable would stop them?

Ok I guess they can handle sending 10meg configs out, but they cant maintain a good quality service with the increased bandwidth involved. So depends how you look at it.

I will put it to you this way, ntl rollout 4meg to bottom tier and then something higher to middle tier, you probably get 4 meg speeds 2 or 3 hours early morning and in evenings you have about 200kbit, would you be happy?

And my 10Mb ntl service is rock steady.

My point is that both networks have oversubscription in some areas, just as the BT DSL network does. You only need to look at http://www.adslguide.com/ to see that. However, all three networks are in a constant state of flux - and all three are constantly being upgraded!
