My Belkin Wireless G USB Network Adaptor Has Stopped Working

Im using one of these adaptors on my laptop to access the net via a Blekin router in the house. Up until yesterday everything worked fine (for abut 3 months now) Suddenly yesterday the adaptor fails to work. I clicked on the Belkin icon on the laptop, and it does nothing. I reinstalled the software, plugged in the adaptor and again nothing, trying this on my desktop as well. Even clickingg on the icon for the software does nothing at all.

I run windows 2000 on the lappy (its an old one) and my desktop is XP. Everything was working fine untill Tuesday. Has my adaptor died? Do they die? Or is there something I need to re-do.

Any help will be greatly appreciated cause the missu (who uses the lappy to surf) is now threatening to hit me with it unless its fixed.

Saaf, what happens when you plug the adapter in your XP machine, does it find new hardware or does it do nada???

also if the missus hits you with it it wouldnt do much damage they are light things..just dont give her the idea of using the lappy to hit you with that.

The machine does nada when I plug in the USB adaptor. I think its died, as Ive tried it on more than one machine and the same thing happens.

As for the lappy being a lite weight, hmmmmm, its a few years old and hence pretty much in the heavyweight category so im worried about my delicate features lol.

Can/do adaptors just die like that?
