Contact details to request NTL add a newsgroyp

This might sound simple but I am struggling!

Who do I contact (email address please) to request that the NTL Usenet newsgroup servers carry a particular newsgroup?

I recall an announcement a couple of years ago that Highwinds run NTL's Usenet servers. If so then it might be that all NTL does is when it wants a new newsgroup is to ask Highwinds to do it. Is there a good contact email within Highwinds who can add a new newsgroup?

Thanks for any info.

Welcome to the forum

Regarding the newsgroup addition, I'm sure one of the board mods will advise you further very soon.

A particular point of contact doesn't spring to mind here, your best bet might be to try the responstek form on the forum home page- this may not provide you what you want, but it will at least point you in the right direction.

I am far from 100% sure, but i have a feeling that ntl were not adding any more newsgroups, but i am prepared to be corrected...

Ring the standard tech support line. They should log your request and pass to the relevant department. Or as Chris W says try Responsetek, may take longer though.

NOTE: If you are requesting the addition of high data groups such as dvd, multimedia, etc. then they will probably not be added.

The ntl newsgroup charter says
Quote:
7 - ntl.support.newsgroup-requests newsgroup has been removed. Newsgroup
requests may now be requested by e-mailing newsgroup.requests@ntlworld.com.
When requesting a newsgroup to be added please ensure that it is spelt
correctly.

When we put forward a group for addition we need to check that it exists on
other Usenet news servers. This is usually done via a search on
groups.google.com and by searching the list supplied by Internet Software
Consortium - ftp.isc.org/pub/usenet/CONFIG/ or for uk.* newsgroups
www.usenet.org.uk/checkgroups. Your request may be unsuccessful if you
provide us with the incorrect spelling/case.

The full name of the newsgroup you are requesting must be in the *body* of
your mail and not in the subject line.

We are unable to accept requests for newsgroup hierarchies. Please request
each individual newsgroup within the hierarchy you wish to be added.

We are unable to request newsgroups within the following hierarchies, as
they will automatically be added if carried by our peers: comp, humanities,
misc, news, rec, sci, soc, talk, uk, scot, wales, microsoft, gnu.
I'm not sure if this email address is monitored any more but it's worth a shot.

Edit: I tried it and it autoresponds

There are a few other good groups, but a.b.multimedia seems highly in demand. I don't know why!
