Any Telewest Blueyonder using a Belkin Router

Hi this is my first post. I want to purchase a wireless router for my already wireless enabled laptop and a second PC I have just received (It has a wireless USB receiver with it and have just set it up and it picked up next doors Belkin 54 through the walls! I have disabled it now).

My main PC is connected via a telewest blueyonder Webstar cable modem.

Question: I have been researching suitable routers and am quite keen on a Belkin 54 or Belkin 125g router. Are there any Telewest BB users out there using a belkin and would you recommend it.

I want something easy to set up and reliable - do you think the belkin 125 is any better.

Your help would be appreciated as I want to purchase a router soon.

I cant remember which belkin i use, but i recently bought it so it must be a modern one. it works pretty well for me, my desktop is plugged directly into one of the lan ports of the router and the laptop works fine alround the house.

Recently bought does not necessarily mean modern. When new models appear there can be large stocks of the older models in various parts of the distribution chain. These can take a long time to work their way through the distribution chain and sell if most buyers only go for the newer models. I have seen many parts in new systems which were manufactured two, three or more years prior to the system being sold.

to the forum Debbie. It doesn't matter whether the router is attached to an NTL or a Telewest service, they work the same way.

I have a Belkin, and I would have to agree with those people who say the biggest weakness of them is their poor signal strength. The most popular router among people who express an opinion on this forum is the Linksys WRT54g.

I don't think it's worth your while paying extra for a 125g model. 54g is already a lot faster than your internet service. 125g is really for offices where high-speed data transfer around the local network is important.

Thanks all for replying to my question. As I want a good signal strength perhaps not a belkin?
I have seen a few queries regards issues with Linksy routers - so I had ruled that out.
I will have to keep looking before making my mind up.
Any further comments gratefully recieved.

i have the Belkin 125 router on telewest broadband and it works fine, no problems whatsoever ive even added a wireless adapter in another room to setup the ps2 on wireless, works great
