Re: wireless router+usb wireless adaptor
Until you can confirm the exact model number of what you are proposing to buy, I would say: don't buy it. It is not clear from your description whether it is compatible with an ethernet connection such as NTL modems offer. For instance, if it is a combined ADSL modem/router, it will not work on NTL cable.

Re: wireless router+usb wireless adaptor
With the advent of 10Mbps be wary of routers whos individual ports are a max of 10Mbps, also i have found from experience that wireless isn't as fast as hardwired from the same router, however its personnal choice as to peoples preferred transmission system.
Look for a router that is at least 802.11G to allow for future expansion, 802.11b is now on its upper limits with cable.
edit: just re-read your original post, lol, it is 802.11G, sounds ok for the price.

Re: wireless router+usb wireless adaptor
I just had a quick look on Ebay for netgear routers, heres a suitable model at a fraction of the price
Netgear WGT634U , refurbed around £29, new around £45-50
And this ones 108Mbps so excellent between PC's and will cope with any cable speeds currently available

Re: wireless router+usb wireless adaptor
That site is a bit hopeless, as they do not say what model they are trying to sell you. But from the picture it looks like the Netgear WGR614 plus the WG111 USB 802.11g adapter. In which case, it is compatible with NTL cable modems

Re: wireless router+usb wireless adaptor
netgear, d-link, cisco (if you like to throw money about)
personally I go with netgear, but I try to avoid wireless whenever possible, a wire is so much more reliable and faster!
