How are you connecting to the NTL network?
If it's via a bt phoneline and ADSL, you would have been sent a letter with your username and password when you joined. If you don't have these, you may need to call customer services.
If it's via a cable connection and via your STB, then you need to "register" your PC with the Set Top Box. Then you can get your router to clone your PC's Mac address (all routers can do this).
If it's via a seperate cable modem, then you don't need a user id or password.

Re: NTL ISP username and password
If you know your e-mail address but have forgotten your password go to https://autoreg.autoregister.net/cgi-bin/xtrmail here and log in as the main user? They will then e-mail you your password.
Your user name is usually the bit before the @
Good luck.

Re: NTL ISP username and password
Depends at what stage in setting up the router. Some router ISP settings (PPP over Ethernet) require an ISP user/password. NTL doesn't. However, if you connect through a set-top box rather than a cable modem, you may be required to register the connection at the point you connect to the internet. You can get round this by cloning the MAC address of the PC which was originally used. The NTL end then thinks you are still using the same device.
Having said all that, if you need the original account details (you may be asked for them if you ever have to call Tech support), just ring CS and they'll post them to you. (That's what I had to do).

ADSL Router problem
I have two PC's. The phone line is ~10m(of patch cable wire) away from the 2nd PC and the host pc with the internet is upstairs around 30m. I just about a 10m and a 30m patch cable so I'm waiting for them to be posted. Do I install the CD into my host pc or the 2nd one which is nearer to the router? Please tell me if I'm in the right direction of solving this problem, if not give me a big slap and tell the solution:-D. Thanks!

Re: NTL ISP username and password
I have NTL broadband. With an NTL phone line. Do you know if it supports ADSL? :-S...So my username and pass is my ntlworld email name without the @ part...I already tried that and it doesn't work...

Re: ADSL Router problem
Can you clarify. Are you using ADSL (i.e. connecting to the Internet through a BT ADSL line) or cable? (Your other thread mentions NTL).

Re: NTL ISP username and password
Confused now. NTL phone lines do not support ADSL. You get the broadband connection through cable and a cable modem. And if you use a router, it must be a plain router with an RJ45 (Ethernet) WAN port which connects to the cable modem, NOT one with an ADSL modem built-in (RJ11 port whch connects to the phone line)..

Re: NTL ISP username and password
Just to confirm - taking the router out of the equation, do you get your broadband through a cable modem (probably marked as something like NTL:Home 200, or 250)? If so, have a look at this article:-
