ntls redundancy for those that joined before 2002 is very good. I don't think a union could get a better deal if they tried!

Re: Redundant

What can I say Bill, I'm gutted

After all you've done for everyone here, both in outright help/advise/behind the scenes, you are going to be sorely missed, but hopefully, if you feel so inclined, you can keep us up to date on how you're doing in life

Redundancy isnt normally the nicest of news..... But it sounds as if you'll get a nice package. Any ideas on whats next?? Maybe a long needed holiday etc???

Good luck, and speak soon!

Re: Redundant

Sorry Bill, but I think you should ask them to reconsider. I mean, can they afford to be losing experienced engineers in the North West given connection and email issues recently. I think you should refuse to go

Here's hoping you walk straight into another job and can blow your redundancy package!

Re: Redundant

Thanks to every one for the nice remarks.

Yes its NTL's loss and i am over the moon with the package they have offered me.

I have my fingers in a few pies so watch this space and i will continue to post on here as i will be a customer of NTL. Even without my employee package.

They have not treated me badly and i wish those that remain a happy time with them.

Re: Redundant

I feel that making redundancys at christmas is out of order, it can ruin any christmas, (I alone spent around £1000 on christmas last year, food, drink, and pressies)

I was luck in that I was made redundant in the summer a week before my hols

With the redundnacy package that ntl people like Bill are receiving, I have no doubt it'll be one of the best Christmas' ever!

I've been keeping my news on the employee forum, but I too have been made redundant. I can tell you now, I'm as happy as Bill is too!!!
And yes, it will be a good Xmas

Well I'm happy for you Bill as that's what you want.

Your help on this forum has been very well received and has helped quite a few..it's our loss and NTL's as well.

And for you as well. Seems Ntl is getting rid of some of it's best assets more fool them.

Thing is, they don't look at employees as assets, just costs.... I costs more than the guys that work for me, so they want to cut that costs. Suits me!

Re: Redundant

Good luck to you both!

NTL are idiots, probably why they chose you for redundancy as intellectually they can't take the competition.

A blow for the customers though.
