Re: *ALL* ntl 10MB Discussion (Part 3)
After a cooling of period i realise what i said was a bit on the harsh side, and all things aside the lady on the other end of the phone was polite in dealing with my enquiry. It is just frustrating to be told something when you know its not correct. I understand that NTL employees can not always be the first to know whats going on, in fact if my experiences in previous jobs are anything to go by they are likely the last to know. Still, the case of people being upgraded depending, supposedly, on who they speak to is a little annoying. Again i appologise for my hasty remarks.

I was told the same about my 100 modem. Its been fine since I was upgraded and the cs guy sent me the f/w update. The 100's seem to be coping just fine with 10 meg.

The usual way of connecting it is like this : Internet -- Cable Modem -- Router so your suggestion isn't actually relevant. Nice try though.

OWNING my SB3100 made it easy to get it changed.... i just unplugged it and rang TS and said i had spilt coffee on it.
Obviously with it being an NTL modem you can't do that....but accidents do happen.

What area's are covered by the new 10mb service, is it worth getting in touch with cs.
I am in Sunderland, Wearside. So whats the chance of an upgrade.

Re: What Area For 10mb
You cannot upgrade online from the 3 meg to 10 Meg (but oddly enough, you can from the 1 meg or 2 meg .....)

Yeah, I have rebooted my cable modem lots and lots of times, I tried to call them yesterday and some women just spoke over me and told me that it was because its a "pilot scheme" -- I tried to explain that I appreciate that and understand that, but why am I only going at 1mb now? -- she just told me its because its a pilot scheme and sometimes I will gete 10mb and other times I will maybe get 3mb (even tho I tried to explain that I am 3 times slower than normal!) -- Ive not pushed over 100k/sec since I upgraded, so I think I will give up on this one, I am going to call Customer services and ask them to downgrade meback to 3mb or maybe 2mb. Oh well :-( I tried :-(
