Hey, Lid.

I have an engineer coming tomorrow morning to test things out. Hopefully I'll get a new modem and that will be that. Cross your fingers for me.

Update:

The engineer came and did a test on the modem and connection. Turns out that I was getting too much signal coming through. He actually gasped aloud as he did the reading.

So he adjusted the signal and replaced my old and smelly Terayon with a brand spanking new '250'.

My connection is fine now and I'm a happy man.

Re: NTL connection grief.

Hmmmm...this sounds just like the problem I have been having over the last few days. Just (last Thurs) had my socket moved by NTL from one room to another.... and I now get a great connection... then it drops.... and the MODEM lights cycle and everything is back.... seems to be worse the harder you work the connection (or that is my imagination).

I have the original 100 MODEM. Now.... where is that phone?

Re: NTL connection grief.

Yes, the exact problem I have, the harder you work the connection the worse the reboots get. TS concluded that my NTL 100 modem had rebooted itself 400 times and that I probably need a new modem.
