Upstream 495 Kbps (61.9 KB/sec) 534 Kbps (inc. overheads)

and the modem has the new firmware, so I guess everyone on the 120 should try and reboot their modem.
Switched my modem on this morning (120) and noticed that it took a lot longer to boot up, never thought about checking for the firmware up-grade!

Re: *ALL* ntl 10MB Discussion (Part 3)

Just re-booted my 120 and got the new firmware, am now getting much better speeds:

Have to cancel the 250 upgrade when NTL call me Congrats to NTL on sorting this out in a timely manner! And despite being on hold a lot over the last week (and one techie that insisted that the issue was caused by spyware on my pc!) I have to praise NTL staff for their hard work and professionalism -- THANKS PEOPLE!

Re: *ALL* ntl 10MB Discussion (Part 3)

Just rebooted my modem here in Belfast, and i'm now getting a steady 5.5mb, with a max speed of about 7mb.
I'm not sure if the firmware was upgraded, i might twiddle about with my ethernet settings later, see if i can improve on it. I'm using forced 10mb full duplex at the moment.

Re: *ALL* ntl 10MB Discussion (Part 3)

Good news!

Last night ntl deployed new firmware for all Ambit and Motorola modems in preparation for the 10Mbit roll out. These modems should have all been rebooted overnight to apply the new firmware immediately.

Look on the underside - it'll say 'ntl:home 200', 'ntl:home 150', etc.

Re: *ALL* ntl 10MB Discussion (Part 3)

It says ntl:home 200

So I assume that's capable of 10Mb?

Re: *ALL* ntl 10MB Discussion (Part 3)

Just done a reboot and the firmware on my Ambit 120 upgraded and so did my speeds. Now running atDirection
Actual Speed
True Speed (estimated)
Downstream9547 Kbps (1,193.4 KB/sec)10310 Kbps (inc. overheads)Upstream492 Kbps (61.5 KB/sec)531 Kbps (inc. overheads)
A manual reboot seems the way to go.

Just ignore these results as I made the mistake of not doing my own speed test

I just followed the link on DiscoStu Post No. 437 which I now realise is his results not mine

I am still on 3Mb

Waits for slap in face to wake me up

Re: *ALL* ntl 10MB Discussion (Part 3)

I know this sounds stupid as people will say I would have 10mb if I had the firmware upgrade but my firmware shows ntlhm120_ntl0001.cpr

What is the new firmware? I'm in barcelona at the moment but can reboot the modem by changing the ethernet settings via RDP on my PC.

I believe your modem has been updated or will be updated to run at the full 10Mb
