Belkin Wireless G Router help please !!!

Some newbie questions here !!!

Purchased a Belkin G Router today (model # F5D7230-4) and a G Router USB Network adapter for my upstairs PC.

Installation seems to have gone well and the upstairs PC is picking up the NTL broadband signal just fine.

Question one is, how do I set up security (WEP?) because I can't find any reference to it in the Belkin manual. I've used my Windows XP to set up a WEP Network key and SSID name but how do I tell the router ?

Question two is, I still have the "blue cable" from the router connected to my downstairs PC and haven't used the USB adapter I thought I would need for it. Everything seems fine but is that okay ?

Question three is, how do I set up a network so that I can access files on the downstairs PC from the upstairs PC ....... or can't I do that ?

Question four, last one, is can I share the same Outlook Express on both PCs such that I don't have different downloaded emails sitting on two separate PCs ?

Any help appreciated !!!

Re: Belkin Wireless G Router help please !!!

With regards to the WEP Browse to http://192.168.2.1/ which is address of your router. On the left hand side, you will see a link for security (about the 7th option down) the settings are in there. Make sure the key you type in is the same on the router and your pc otherwise the connection won't workI think the blue cable you refer to is a connection directly from the router to your pc, so it is not using the wireless capibilty - I think the USB device you have is a wireless dongle, but I could be wrong.
Others here should be able to help with the rest

Re: Belkin Wireless G Router help please !!!

Q1 and 2, what Andy said.
Q3, just set up a share each machine. Open Windows explorer, view explorer bar folders. Open up my computer and c: and either create a new directory or share an existing one. To share it right click sharing, give it a share and set permissions. The other machine can either browse to it when you open my network places, entire network .... or you can map a drive \\<pc name>\<share name>
Q4 the only way I know is to set up your own mail server to store mail in a central place. Not hard to do, but you'll have to always have it powered up.

In answer to Question 4. I've done this with Outlook before (the one that comes with MS Office) It stores all of the Local Folders in a single file which you can share in a central location, if you then delete the file from its original location and start Outlook, itll ask where the file is and you can point it to the central store.
