Re: *ALL* ntl 10MB Discussion (Part 3)

Now I just did the tier upgrade to the 10mb service, now I've signed up for the service and I can only get 5mb on my NTL 200 modem, am i in my rights to demand the NTL 250 modem now?

1492 is for DSL, 1500 is the number for cable.

Re: *ALL* ntl 10MB Discussion (Part 3)

I'm in Guildford and I use the NTL 250 SACM. I have tried ringing CS and asking for the upgrade but get told that it isn't available yet. I noticed that they did upgrade work in Guildford on the 7th so I tried rebooting my modem but I am still at the 3mbit speed. I've tried logging into the tier migration but it seems to get stuck at validating username?

Re: *ALL* ntl 10MB Discussion (Part 3)

not all of the 3meg ppl got upgraded to 10Mbit so it means that the connections are not fully estabilised, there is still work to be done, at the moment so many people have the same problems of getting half speed but its not bcoz of the modem its because of their network gettin hammered i guess bcz even ppl that were on 2meg are on 10meg now

Re: *ALL* ntl 10MB Discussion (Part 3)

I got a phone call tis afternoon from ntl to let me know that the network issue preventing me from going on the 10 meg service was fixed and did i want to try upgrade again.

Quite a nice surprise after only reporting the issue over the last couple of days, so a big thumbs up to ntl!

Edit: Currently downloading at 1160 K/sec using the ntl:250 modem.

As an existing customer, I don't think that offer would be available (and I should think you'd get the 3Mbps config file, as no one with a Sammy has 10Mbps yet).

That's a first - I wonder if, as per normal conditions, customers could upgrade for one month and then downgrade the next month? Or is there a longer minimum term than that?
