wireless option

I'm just testing the water, about wireless routers, I have seen linksys hr200 models in tesco, what is the general feeling on these, and do you need to be a techie to install one?

Regards Stretch

Wireless routers are fine, if you need the mobility they offer, or have difficulty running physical cables. You don't need to be a techie to install, most people are just fine working through the user guides.

Re: wireless option

If you use a cable modem go for a Netgear, easy setup and excellent 24/7 support.

Belkin is harder to set up and although free support, not 24 hours and not very good.

Talking from personal experience, others may state otherwise

Re: wireless option

Just make sure that if you are using a cable service such as NTL, the router is not intended for ADSL.

Re: wireless option

Someone else on here bought one last week worked great once it was on a higher shelf. It does have an aerial, but it is internal, like your mobile phone these days.
