Set top box locking.

Hi,
Since saturday night my set top box has been locking up after about 2 minutes of viewing even after rebooting.
To begin with I kept getting the black Telewest loading screen and nothing else.
On sunday after rebooting the box updated all the channels but then locked on the first channel I watched.
Now after rebooting I can change channels for a couple of minutes then it just locks on a black screen.
On reading poorer forums I think other people have been experiencing this.
I'm in the WC1H area, is this anything to do with upgrading for teleport and can someone help me get my channels back please.

Re: Set top box locking.

Nasty ... sounds like the sort of fault that will require an engineer call out I'm afraid, you had better get on the phone to them and book it in asap.

As to what might actually be causing it - I'll let others more knowledgeable do the theorising.

to the forum, by the way. All others are poorer by comparison.

Re: Set top box locking.

Thanks for the reply.

Here is some praise for customer support!
They noticed I was ringing on a mobile so called me back and then when I told them about the problem they said an engineer was already booked to come the next day!
wow! to improve support Telewest are now employing psychics
I suppose they have yet to turn up though

Re: Set top box locking.

AAAAARRGH!!!!

Engineer came round this morning and changed the box, everything working fine.
Come home tonight and the box keeps going to the Blue smartbox loading screen after a minute of Tv.
If I have to watch the bloke on the telewest help channel say "rebooting will solve everything" another time , I will go mad!
I guess I need the psychic engineers again
