What is going to happen with the upgrades then? will it be area by area like with the telewest upgrades?

Re: *All* ntl 10meg Discussion (part 2)
Paul
as u said we would be pleasently surprised with the uncapped service
i assume u know the what kinda uncapped service thats gonna be available
any info about it u can give to us??
is there gonna be only 1 speed to choose from??
faster then 3mb??
price??
with ADSL ISP rolling out all these high speed uncapped service
NTL needs to do something to stay competitive
not trying to get this topic into a cap/uncapped topic
just wanna know what broadband services will NTL be offering after the 10mb upgrades

Because they have customers who would like to know what is happening.

Faster than 3Mbps ? very unlikely. I think it reasonable to assume there will be a choice of lower speeds.

Um, just to be clear here, Paul does not work for ntl, and never has.
The nearest I get is being based next door to the ntl complex in Nottingham.

Looks to me they are fighting the problems that we have currently, 3 maintenance nights last week as well plus all those for this week, considering 2mbit doesnt even max out right now and loads of gamers in leics have problems I would be very surprised if leics had 10mbit any time soon.
Incidently is guildford that area ntl love? gets everything first and has platinum service.

Re: *All* ntl 10meg Discussion (part 2)
My ntl has gone down from roughly 2 meg to between 500 and 800 mhz tonight. i live in Bromley. i have tried configuring ie to use a specific proxy server and im getting differing speeds ( testing on pc pitstop ) between 500 and 800 mhz. is my low speed due to the matience in Bromley tonight?
