Re: Bromley upgrade starting....
Essex, got it this morning too
Disconcerting that there's no progress spinner when going in to Interactive etc., but then, the spinner could twirl away for ever more with nothing happening.
Not had any proper BBCi for it to crash on yet, so no idea if the red button is any more stable in this release.

I said this in another thread, this is one I did without that stupid/useless mini guide text!

Re: Bromley upgrade starting....
The Interactive pages are just a special kind of HTML, retrieved from a server. They'll be updated later.

I got it yesterday in W Forest (one day after the letter). Put the STB on standby, turned it back on and it downloaded.

Re: Bromley upgrade starting....
Rebooted and got the update, in East London.
One thing though, when it updated it came up "era5" or "eras". Stopped for a while, and then sorted itself out. What's that about, anythign to worry about? Its a Samsung box. Seems to work alright, and no errors in the event log

That is short for erase and comes up when it is erasing the eprom, It does this before loading the new software in to the eprom

Re: Bromley upgrade starting....
Grrrrrrrrrr !
Ruddy NTL ! They go and give you a software "upgrade" and take away possibly the best feature of the software, i.e. the ability to turn off the red dot.
OK, under the last software if you pressed the "tv" button to bring up the now/next menu, if you then pressed tv, the menu went and the red dot was present, if you then pressed it a 3rd time the dot would dissapear.
On the new software, the "tv" button simply toggles the menu on and off and does not turn off the red dot. You have to wait for it to vanish itself.
Please tell me I can change this option in a menu somewhere ? I HATE the red dot !
