Re: Outlook Express - adding another ntl email?

The outgoing mail server was set to 'localhost', so probably an over enthusiastic Mcafee rather than a typo.

Yep ... incoming mail through pop.ntlworld.com servers
outgoing mail through smtp.ntlworld.com servers

Should mine be set to smtp instead of localhost? You see before I set up my mum's account I checked mine for the settings so that's why I'd put in localhost because that's what it says on mine.

Re: Outlook Express - adding another ntl email?

localhost directs it toward the virus scanner that then directs it to smtp, if you don't have macafee or whatever and you put local host it does not know where to go.
put the pop and smpt addresses in and you should be fine.
